From the director of John Wick. This should be great!
We’re confident in saying that if you were asked to name your favourite scene from Deadpool, it wouldn’t be an action sequence. Then again, that opening credits sequence was superb!
In our view, the best moments from the film were the ones that didn’t revolve around the action – as good as it was – because Tim Miller’s adaptation had some cracking jokes and a superbly delivered performance from Ryan Reynolds.
Since being released, Deadpool has earned over $783 million and broke various records because it wasn’t just a mindless comic-book film. Hell, you could argue that the film is more of a comedy than anything else.
This being said, with John Wick co-director David Leitch taking over the director’s chair on the sequel, we’re expecting the body count to rise.
Filming has now finished and Josh Brolin (Cable) has been speaking about what fans can expect.
In an interview with Collider, Brolin said that his character gets “beat to shit” and that Leitch has brought “a ton of action” to the sequel.

“I had heard somewhere along the line, and I think it’s okay for me to say this, but I heard somewhere along the line that they felt the first Deadpool didn’t have enough action. […] With this movie, it’s just a different deal. He embraces what he’s very good at, which I think is very smart. There’s ton of action in it. The tease is, a guy who’s 49 years old on the cusp of 50 who got in the best shape of his life, especially exteriorly, and I was extremely disciplined throughout that whole thing. I got beat to shit on that movie. That’s all I know. I had stuntmen throwing me all over the place,” he said.
Deadpool 2 sees Ryan Reynolds returning as the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ alongside Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder).
We’re also going to see some new additions like Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Jack Kesy, Shioli Kutsuna, Eddie Marsan and Julian Dennison.
At present, it’s set for release on June 1st, 2018.
