Two particular cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine are guaranteed to have superhero fans losing their minds.
Probably the most anticipated blockbuster of the year, Deadpool & Wolverine has finally landed in cinemas and you can check out JOE’s spoiler-free review of the movie right here.
We promised not to reveal any of the film’s many cameos in our initial write-up but now that the movie has been released, we’re going to discuss the surprise special appearances.
So, if you haven’t seen Deadpool & Wolverine yet, now is your warning to stop reading.
…
Still here? Okay, let’s dive in.
While there are around a dozen notable cameos in Daredevil & Wolverine, we think the two that will provoke the biggest reactions involve two previous Marvel stars reprising their superhero roles.
The first and arguably funniest occurs when Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) find themselves banished to the purgatorial place known as The Void, where people deemed as threats to the Time Variance Authority are trapped.
Upon arriving there, the merc with the mouth is delighted to see a character played by Chris Evans – thinking that he is Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
It turns out, much to Deadpool’s chagrin, that Evans is actually reprising an earlier role – that of Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch from the Fantastic Four films released in 2005 and 2007.
Then, later in The Void, Deadpool and Wolverine come across a motley crew of other heroes stuck in The Void that have formed a team.
This includes the already announced as part of the cast Elektra (Jennifer Garner) and X-23 (Wolverine’s young clone in Logan played by Dafne Keen).
But it also features the surprise and amazing return of Wesley Snipes as Blade, as well as the first appearance of Channing Tatum as the X-Men character Gambit – a role the actor had long tried to play in a solo movie.

-Just an absolutely killer intro.
– Hilarious and unforgettable cameos
-Hugh Jackman delivers in yellow spandex.
-This movie basks in the irony that the MCU was supposed to save Deadpool and Wolverine but the exact opposite happens. pic.twitter.com/IpGNmAyLBa
Deadpool & Wolverine was the most fun I’ve had at the movies in years. It’s a Marvel fan’s delight. Cameos, yes, but Ryan Reynolds handpicked the ones to deliver surgical comedic impact. It rewards MCU obsession AND knowing the lives of these chiseled heroes.

I don’t usually go nuts for cameos and think they can be a little cheap BUT there’s one in DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE that audibly made me say “WOW” in the theater

Other noteworthy examples of returning Marvel characters in the new blockbuster include Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Sabretooth (Tyler Mane) and Toad (Ray Park).
On top of this, Henry Cavill plays an alternative universe version of Wolverine who attacks Deadpool, while a masked Blake Lively (Reynolds’ real-life) plays Lady Deadpool – one of many Deadpool variants that appear with in the movie.
It should be said that these are only the cameos we spotted on a first time watch of the blockbuster, so you can expect more blink-and-you-miss-it special appearances to be revealed in the coming days.
