Donald Glover AKA Community’s Troy Barnes AKA Grammy-nominated Childish Gambino is to produce, write and star in Atlanta, a show about the rap scene in Georgia’s capital.
Glover plays Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks, who starts managing his cousin, Alfred Miles (Brian Tyree Henry) as his rap career blows up. The two come into conflict over music, money and race.
The confirmed cast also includes Lakeith Lee Stanfield, who will play Darius, Alfred’s collaborator, and Zazie Beetz, playing the mother of Earn’s child.
We’re huge fans of Glover here at JOE, and can’t wait for his long overdue return to comedy.
