Early reactions to IT suggest that this will be one of the movies of the year

Looks like the hype could be justified

No film has been more hyped in 2017 than IT.

Not even Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, whose mere name alone sends fanboys into waves of hysteria, couldn’t match the hype around the new adaptation of IT.

The stakes are high, too. Many people have very fond memories of the original movie adaptation of IT, starring the great Tim Curry as Pennywise. There have been so many shoddy remakes of classic horror films recently that one might expect IT to fall into the same category.

But something about the trailers and marketing of the movie has given movie fans hope, and from the reactions of journalists given an early preview, it looks as though the hype might actually be justified, with some even going as far as saying it’s “one of the finest Stephen King adaptations ever made.”

Not only does IT appear to be scoring well with the critics, industry analysts think that the movie will have the biggest opening weekend of any horror movie in history and the biggest September opening ever, with an expected $60 million takings at the box office.

Strap in, everybody. This September is all about Pennywise.
