Is Roxy Mitchell still alive?
That’s the question some EastEnders fans have been asking after last night’s mysterious episode.
Since Roxy and Ronnie tragically met their watery end in a hotel swimming pool on New Year’s Day most of the grieving and focus in Albert Square has been on Ronnie and the young family she left behind.
Last night the actress who plays Ronnie, Sam Womack, came back for an emotional scene with her widower Jack Branning.
Meanwhile Roxy’s body was not seen. Which in itself is nothing hugely out of the ordinary.
But suspicions were aroused when Phil got a mystery call late at night. He initially brushed it off, telling wife Sharon it was a wrong number.
Then, when she left, he called it back and had a brief exchange with the mystery caller where he told them to “calm down” and ended the call saying: “Of course I’ll see you. Alright, I’ll meet you there.”
Now this is not conclusive proof that Roxy is about to make a shock return. But was enough to get some fans speculating.

It should be said that since the New Year’s Day drowning, the actress who played Roxy, Rita Simons, has been publicly discussing her plans to move on from the soap.
However, could it all be a clever smokescreen for a huge shock return from the grave?
