Life is never easy on the East End and next week is no exception.
BBC show bosses have confirmed to Digital Spy that disaster is about to strike the square. Scenes set to air next week could see some of Walford’s best-known characters caught up in big trouble.
The details of the storyline are tightly under wraps but writers have promised that it will not disappoint.
Next week, three full episodes will be dedicated to the disaster and the impending doom is the reason why there appears to be some continuity errors on the street.
Earlier this week, eagle-eyed fans noted that both Mick Carter and Phil Mitchell celebrated their birthdays early. According to a spokesperson, the big events have thrown off the sequence of days on the street.
An EastEnders spokesperson told Digital Spy: “As a continuing drama, it is not uncommon for events to be moved in order to tie in with other storylines.”
“Next week sees disaster strike in Walford, and these episodes all take place over one day, so in order for events to be played out in this way, other moments need to be moved slightly for story purposes.”
