Never a dull moment down Albert Square.
Eastenders fans are about to lose another Branning girl, as Lauren’s exit scenes have finally been confirmed.
Whatever Oscar Wilde said about losing one is unfortunate but two is careless, doesn’t half cover this because the Branning family’s tragic year is set to get a whole lot worse.
Max Branning, played by Jake Wood, is set to lose his second daughter in a matter of weeks, as Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) gears up to leave Albert Square for good. She ain’t coming back. Do you hear me?
The storyline follows from the devastating Christmas Day accident which saw Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) die after falling off the roof of the Queen Vic while trying to prevent Max from killing himself .
And now Lauren has decided that there’s far too much drama in Albert Square and she’s headed for the quiet life in, eh, Glasgow instead.
“I have one more day of filming left tomorrow to do a pick-up scene,” Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Branning, explained. “Just one more day and it’s all over.
“We were expecting it for quite a while. We were guessing for ages.
“When you know how the show works, you know where a story is going even a year before it,” she continued. “You start going, ‘Hmm, if this happens, and this happens, maybe that’s going to happen’.
“We were super prepared, but we just wanted to know how they would leave. We wanted to know what it was going to be. Then as soon as we found out, it was like, ‘Oh my God, this is big’. If you leave, you want to leave big.”
