You don’t have to be an avid viewer of EastEnders to know who Phil Mitchell is.
An ever-present on the soap for the last God knows how many years, as Christams 2016 draws ever closer, viewers are facing up to the fact that Phil may not be sticking around to see much of the new year.
In a hard-hitting storyline, Phil – who is played by actor Steve McFadden – is dying of liver disease, brought on by years of drinking alcohol.
Overlooking the serious element to it all, plenty of viewers have been more concerned by Phil’s appearance in recent episode. The faces of many of those that suffer with liver disease will appear yellow, and makeup has been applied to Phil to create this effect.
Many viewers have noticed this, and have mocked his appearance, as was the case as Thursday’s episode aired.
