All for a good cause but even Gogglebox called him shocking.
Like him or dislike his music, but there’s no denying that Ed Sheeran is a very decent guy that frequently goes over and above for his fans. In recent years we’ve seen him do work for Comic Relief, help his friend out of financial difficulty and surprise his fans by making impromptu visits.
With an upcoming tour on the agenda, the Lego House and Thinking Out Loud singer is going to be incredibly busy over the next few months but he found some time to participate in Celebrity Gogglebox as part of Channel 4’s bid to raise funds for the Stand Up to Cancer appeal.
Fair play to all those involved with the campaign.

Just like Liam Gallagher’s memorable performance in front of the TV cameras, Sheeran was sat alongside Big Narstie and Example as he watched and commented on some recent TV highlights.
During the show, the celebrities watched a variety of TV shows including Blue Planet II, Strictly Come Dancing and Nigella Lawson’s new cooking show.
This being said, Sheeran had a bit of a nightmare when it came to answering the music questions that were featured on University Challenge.
During a specific round, the contestants were asked to name the song from the introduction alone. Arguably, the most easily-identifiable track was Lust for Life by Iggy Pop. After all, it featured in that iconic Trainspotting scene and it’s an absolute belter.
Jeremy Corbyn, Jessica Hynes, Liam Gallagher and his son Gene all got it right. Sheeran didn’t – he said it featured in Billy Elliot and was recorded by The Clash.
Keep listening though because Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff also struggle with a classic track that featured in a famous Quentin Tarantino film.
Sheeran’s blunder didn’t go unnoticed.
Still, it’s all for a good cause!

Watching Gogglebox. Ed Sheeran hears Iggy Pop's Lust For Life and confidently says "It appears in Billy Elliot and it's by the Clash".
