Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear days are officially over.
The motor-mouthed presenter has been told his contract will not be renewed by the BBC after yet another scandal over his behaviour.
The 54-year-old controversy magnet was suspended by bosses at the Beeb over allegations he attacked a producer in a Yorkshire hotel.
BBC director general Tony Hall who investigated the fracas confirmed there was a ‘physical altercation’ which crossed the line.
He said Clarkson was a huge talent and he was a great fan of the Yorkshireman’s work…just obviously not the fighty, sweary bits.
Twitter has been ablaze with ire since news of his imminent departure broke last night. Fans of the show were wishing it wasn’t so, but BBC bosses confirmed he would not be returning.
