Good news because it looks like even more Deadpool films are on the way

Paul Moore

The Merc with a Mouth is going nowhere.

Despite the fact that it seems like every single superhero in the world is going to take on Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, we’re certain that Deadpool is more than happy to wait out the fight while assembling some IKEA furniture.

Well, Wade Wilson also has his own problems to attend to because in Deadpool 2, the anti-hero has a brand new– keep Hunt For The Wilderpeople‘s Julian Dennison away from time-travelling mutant, Nathan Summers aka. Cable.

Yep, it sounds bonkers but as the latest TV promo shows, it’s going to be heaps of fun.

We also loved the little reference to One-Eyed Willy from The Goonies – Josh Brolin famously played Brand in the 80s cult-classic.

Speaking of Brolin,  this summer is going to be a very busy one for the star of No Country for Old Men and Sicario because aside from Infinity War, he’s also be making his debut as the mutant Cable in Deadpool 2.

Given the fact that the first Deadpool made $783,112,979m from a budget of $58m, it’s clear that Fox (soon to be Disney) have a massive hit on their hands that they’ll be looking to capitalise on.

Well, in an interview Empire magazine, Brolin confirmed that Cable’s character arc will continue over the course of three more films.

“We think about it in four movie terms. We tried to think of Cable as a full arc, not just in this movie, but in the trajectory of four films. That made it a lot more fun for me.”

As the trailer for Deadpool 2 revealed, we’re going to be treated to an X-Force movie, so it’s fair to assume that Cable will be appearing in that feature too.

Aside from this, he could also star in Deadpool 3 and if X-Force proves to be a hit, we expect a follow-up to that film to be commissioned.

Either way, it’s clear that there are big plans to keep Deadpool on screen. After all, ” Daddy needs to express some rage!”

Deadpool 2 arrives in cinemas on May 18th.
