I’m A Celeb kicked off on Sunday night, much to the delight of many.
The show’s return featured rehab-based banter by Ant and Dec, some early rivalry between campmates, and lots and lots of parachutes.
The likes of Rebekah Vardy, Jamie Lomas, Dennis Wise, Stanley Johnson, Jennie McAlpine, Shappi Khorsandi, and Vanessa White have been strolling around the Australian jungle for a few days now, but it was Amir Khan – and most notably his bushtucker trial – that got everybody talking last night.
The boxer stepped up for the first trial of the series alongside Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo in the hope of bringing back some nice food for the camp.
However, Amir was forced to quit the trial halfway through… because he accidentally pulled a literal snake out of a hole and freaked out.
Intense.

How did Amir Khan pull that snake out of the hole when he was trying to get a plastic circle? 😂😂

We mean, we absolutely would freak out too if the same happened to us while we just trying to have a nice time and win some food, you know?
Amir, understandably, was not too happy with the situation and yelped” “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” meaning that he would absolutely like to stop the trial, please.
But it wasn’t Amir’s dramatic (and warranted) reaction that got people talking.
It was the old photo of him posing with a snake in a nightclub years ago – and the apparent ease at which he stands near the creature that caused him so much distress last night.
Oh…. Oh dear Amir…. You really are making this too easy, come on!!! 😂🙈🐍… What is everyone thinking?!to be honest- I've been drunk enough I could have missed a snake sighting?! Anyone else?! 😂🙈 pic.twitter.com/h9hUEIgLI3

Some people were only delighted that Amir had had this close encounter before.
Others, however, went so far as to suggest that the boxer was faking his fear of snakes because he looked so grand in the presence of one all those years ago.
Interesting enough though, Amir is not holding or even touching the snake in this photo.
Nor has he accidentally pulled the snake out of anywhere when he was supposed to be pulling out a star to get a nice dinner.
He also wasn’t in a nice club posing for a pic last night.
He was in the jungle.
The two scenarios are simply not the same and to suggest would be, put simply a crude lie.
One thing is for certain though – and that’s that Amir is 100 percent going to be picked by the public to do more trials from now on.
