Ronda Rousey will not be happy with the fact that Holly Holm is the top-ranked female bantamweight on EA SPORTS UFC 2 but, other than that, she seems to love the game.
The most-anticipated video game in MMA history hits the shelves today and fight fans are salivating at the prospect of getting to try out all the new modes, be it the the new dynamic grappling system or the brilliant ‘Knockout Mode.’
We were fortunate enough to join ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey as she filmed some of the motion capture ahead of the game’s release and asked her what she thought of the game, her likeness and her rating.
Rousey, speaking at the EA SPORTS UFC 2 shoot, was full of praise for the in-game grappling.
“Compared to the past versions, the grappling on it is awesome,” Rousey said.
“It’s not like trying to get the timing on a button like you’re on a golfing game. It’s actually a very step-by-step, realistic look at grappling and I think that people that don’t know anything about it will actually learn a lot about it by playing it.
“Like why it makes sense to go from full guard into a half guard that goes to side mount that goes to mount. People will learn that progression a lot more playing the game.
“It’s kind of like when you’re playing Guitar Hero, you don’t actually learn anything about guitar. But you can actually learn something about fighting by playing this game.”
