The makers of FIFA 16 have a very broad definition of the word ‘legend’.
EA had already announced a handful of the retired stars included in the upcoming version of the game, with some of our favourites like George Best, Ryan Giggs and Javier Zanetti among those included.
But the newest additions for the game’s Ultimate Team format perhaps aren’t quite as legendary as the rest.

We realise the United States had no representation on the FIFA Legends roster, but it still seems as though the gun has been well and truly jumped.
Donovan had a fantastic career in MLS, winning every domestic honour going during his time with the LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes, but probably wouldn’t be most people’s first choice.
And as for Lalas, well maybe he was picked on the strength of his musical career as much as his footballing attributes.
Still, it’s nice to see him revelling in the recognition.
Going for a run. It’s gonna be legendary.
