Game of Thrones has some big casting news

JOE

We’d imagine a reunion on the set of Game of Thrones is just like the first day of school, only with murder, sex and betrayal.

Season 6 is currently filming in Belfast and while we’ve speculated about new locations and *that* character returning (we know nothing) the producers have been busy adding some impressive new names to the cast.

You may recall that the warg-tastic Bran Stark will be putting his powers to use this season but the last time we saw Hodor’s best friend, he was hanging out with the Children of the Forest and learning from the three-eyed raven, represented by an old man in the show.

Bran

The power of Christ and the Seven Kingdoms has compelled Max Von Sydow to take the position of Bran’s mentor, a role that was previously played by Struan Rodger.

According to Variety, the Minority Report actor will have a major role in the upcoming season in what’s going to be a busy year for the legendary star – he’s also set to star in a little film called the Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Another piece of news that your raven might not have delivered over the weekend was the addition of Deadwood star Ian McShane to the cast.

We’ve no idea who he’s playing but that man just screams Night’s Watch.
