We have some good and bad news about Game Of Thrones. Which would you like first?
The good is that GoT is likely to run for EIGHT seasons, the bad is that means we only have three series left.
Speaking at a press event in LA, HBO president Michael Lombardo addressed questions on the future of the fantasy drama after season six, which started shooting last month.
The show’s runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have previously said they would finish at season seven, but Lombardo revealed they are now leaning towards making an eighth series.
“At this point, obviously we’re shooting six now, hopefully discussing seven. I think they’re feeling like there’s probably two more years after six,” he said.
Of course, HBO are keen for the (hugely lucrative) show to continue beyond season eight if Benioff and Weiss can be persuaded. Lombardo added: “As I’ve said before, I would always love for them to change their minds.”
