Did you spot them all?
In a bold break with tradition, we’re not going to say spoiler alert for those two people that haven’t seen the most recent episode of Game Of Thrones. Nope, we’re not going to do it.
Bran’s growing warging skills as the new Three-Eyed Raven have consistently been one of the best features in season six, because those tantalising glimpses of the past and future have created some Game Of Thrones gold.
The most recent episode opened with a mesmeric montage of some very important moments, but what exactly did we see?
1) The Mad King
King Aerys Targaryen and the exact moment that Jaime Lannister earns his “Kingslayer” reputation. Daenerys’ dad screams “burn them all!” as Jaime proceeds to stab him in the back and take a seat on the Iron Throne.
Having been given a glimpse of this scene, we can’t help but recall Jamie’s account of this moment back in season three during a discussion with Brienne.
2) Wildfire
Made famous on the show after Stannis’ defeat at Blackwater, Aerys originally used the magical green fire to burn everything and everyone that he felt was against him. Men, women, children and the entire city of King’s Landing were submerged in the flames.
We get to see the pyromancer preparing the green fire but then we see it being fired down in a cellar.
Is this an indicator of what’s to come?
3) A Song of Fire…
It seems that Bran now knows all about Daenerys and her challenge to the Iron Throne because he sees the birth of her dragons.
It also appears that we see the shadow of Drogon as he flies over King’s Landing. Will Dany finally be crossing the Narrow Sea soon?
4) …and ice
Bran got to see his half-brother kick ass at Hardhome but the new Three-Eyed Raven will also have noted how Jon Snow killed a White Walker. Bran will do well to spread the word about Valyrian steel.
The new Three-Eyed Raven will also observed that the Night’s King has the ability to resurrect the dead and the living. The chilling scene with Craster’s baby makes another appearance.
5) Lyanna Stark
In a very cheery passage, we get to see the death of all the Starks, but there’s one very interesting detail. After we see a young Ned Stark shouting “Where is my sister?”, we then see a quick shot of a bloody hand. Some people have speculated that this is Robb Stark’s wife Talisa but the hand probably belongs to Ned, and the blood is most likely Lyanna’s.
Is this the first glimpse at what actually happened inside the Tower of Joy?
Take another look at the whole flashback.
