Several have shared other ghost-sightings from the series
Viewers of James May’s new Amazon Prime show believe there are some spooky goings-on in the background of several scenes, including one that takes place in a mass grave.
The documentary, James May: Our Man In Italy, sees the former Top Gear host travel from Palermo to the Dolomites, exploring everything about Italian culture.
But it certainly isn’t meant to be in the horror or supernatural category.
One eagle-eyed viewer has posted a TikTok in which they claim to see a mysterious figure in the background of one scene.
As May stands in the destroyed ancient city of Pompeii, he explains how the city was famously destroyed by the Mount Vesuvius eruption in 79AD.
But in the background, a ghost-like figure appears to walk across the road, almost as if it has emerged from one of the many graves surrounding May.
You can make up your own mind on the footage below.
Even the host himself has responded to the clip.
In a tweet, he wrote: “My thanks to everyone who has pointed out the ‘ghost’ in ep3 of my new Italy series.
“Nobody saw it at the time, so it’s either a real ghost or (more likely but also more boring) just a bit of digital file corruption.”

But many have now been pointing out other scenes with mysterious figures in the background, with one person suggesting it could be a “clever marketing strategy” from Amazon to put easter eggs in each episode.
They pointed out a similar moment in episode four of the series, with someone replying that they had also spotted ‘ghosts’ in other episodes.
