What a man
Comedian and actor Ken Jeong is a man of many talents, and one of those talents is being an actual doctor, it turns out. During a performance at Stand Up Live, Jeong thought he was being heckled by a woman in the crowd who was actually having a seizure.
Once he realised the woman needed aid Jeong jumped from the stage and assisted her, along with an EMT who was also in the audience. Both Jeong and the emergency medical technician stayed with the woman until paramedics arrived at the scene and took her away in an ambulance.
Not to leave the crowd disappointed, Dr. Ken (which is also a semi-autobiographical series he stars in on ABC) returned onstage to finish his set.
@kenjeong at Stand Up Live! A woman had a medical emergency during the show. Ken thinks its heckling, when people are asking for his help. He jumps off stage to assist. An EMT helped, too. Then on with the show! Great night! He is gracious and grateful…AND flipping funny! pic.twitter.com/G0nMWb5wMM

The actor obtained his M.D. all the way back in 1995 and worked as a doctor whilst trying to find his big break in the world of comedy, which eventually came in the form of playing Dr. Kuni in Knocked Up, before going on to star as Mr. Chow in The Hangover Trilogy and Ben Chang in Community.
In his own words he was extremely serious during his medical days, telling NPR in an interview in 2014 that “I was so super serious as a doctor, I would bark orders to my nurses. I was hard-core. I wanted to make sure I did my job right.”
Somehow that all seems even funnier than his actual OTT comedy roles.
Good work, doc.
