The film comes from the mind behind Gangs of London and The Raid.
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Havoc, its new action thriller movie written and directed by Gareth Evans (Gangs of London, The Raid films) and starring Tom Hardy.
The movie sees Hardy play Walker, a bruised detective “fighting his way through the criminal underworld threatening to engulf his city”.
“After a drug deal gone wrong, Walker finds himself with several factions on his tail, including a vengeful crime syndicate and a crooked politician, as well as his fellow cops,” the plot synopsis reads.
“While attempting to rescue the politician’s estranged son, whose involvement in the drug deal starts to unravel a deep web of corruption and conspiracy, Walker is forced to confront the demons of his past.”

Set to Fontaines D.C. single ‘Starburster’, the minute-long trailer is full of the bloody, bone-crunching, over-the-top action fans of Evans’ work have come to expect.
The teaser also gives fans a peak at the film’s supporting cast, which includes Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified).
Despite Havoc wrapping production in 2021, it needed reshoots – which ended up being delayed due to scheduling issues and the SAG-AFTRA strike.
As such, it’s a relief to see Netflix finally hand Havoc a release date, with the movie now scheduled to drop on the service on 25 April.
You can check out its teaser trailer below, but be warned – it is quite violent.
