The first images of the AMC adaptation of notorious graphic novel Preacher have been released and things are looking promising.
Dominic Cooper looks perfectly cast as hard as nails leading man Jesse Custer.
Backed up by Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ruth Negga as Tulip and Misfits actor Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, it certainly looks as if producer Seth Rogen has helped nail the aesthetic of the book.
Based on the much loved (and M for Mature) graphic novel, Preacher follows the story of Texas holy man Jesse Custer, who finds himself gifted “Word of God”, where you feel compelled to do anything he commands you to do.
Joined by Irish vampire Cassidy, and ex-girlfriend and hitman Tulip, the trio end up embarking on a journey across America, battling foes while they search for… well, that’d be giving things away.
It’s going to be big, it’s going to be brash, and it’s going to be bloody. Here’s hoping Preacher fulfils all of its early promise when it arrives on our screens from AMC sometime in late 2016.
