“By order of the Peaky Blinders!”
While Steven Knight and Cillian Murphy have remained tight lipped about the future of the Shelby family, we have been given a few nuggets of information over the last few months.
The talented Irish actor has already said that Season 4 will be a “return to the roots” of previous seasons and given the way that the last episode ended, we reckon that revenge isn’t far from the mind of Thomas Shelby.
Regarding a specific and definitive ending to the show, Steven Knight, the Peaky Blinders creator, has previously said that: “I want it to end when the first air raid siren sounds in Birmingham. It is a story of a family between two world wars. It begins in 1919 when they have just come back from the war and the family’s journey is towards legitimacy and respectability and to leave their past behind. The big question of the whole series is this: is that possible?”
Speaking with Deadline, Knight also said that Tom Hardy will return as gang leader Alfie Solomon during Season 4, saying “We can’t do it without Alfie.”
The new episodes are currently being filmed in Toxteth, Liverpool and for those that are familiar with the area, you might be able to make out Kinmel Street, South Street and Powis Street looking very different below.
If you haven’t watched the show yet you should really sort that out. The first two seasons are available on Netflix and for fans of the show, here’s your first look at Season 4. Enjoy!
A premiere date for the new season hasn’t been officially announced just yet, but it’s good to see that the cameras are rolling on the superb show.
