Danny Boyle and the original cast are returning for the sequel to Trainspotting and now is your chance to be a part of the movie.
Cav nightclub in Edinburgh has posted a notice to Facebook inviting fans to be a part of the sequel to the 1996 hit movie when it films there on June 14.
They said:
“Danny Boyle and the original cast will be in town for a very special 80’s bash. Want to be there? You need to –
**be free throughout the afternoon and evening of 14th June
**be between 18 & 30 years old
**come dressed for 80s NIGHT.
Spaces are limited and admission to the event is not guaranteed.”
So that gives us nearly two weeks to plan a trip to Edinburgh for June 14.
Trainspotting 2, or T2 as it’s officially called, will see the return of its leading actors Ewen McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle.
In the 1996 movie, they played the roles of a group of heroin addicts in a disadvantaged area of Edinburgh in the 1980’s. The sequel will be set 20 years on and will be loosely based on the novel by Irvine Welsh called Porno, centering around the porn industry.
Commenting on the new movie Robert told the DailyMail:
“The strength of this new script is the fact that the narrative is a bit stronger than it was in the original.
“In the first one, when you think about it, it’s hard to remember what they did other than get together, the drug deal at the end, and then it’s over.
“This has maybe got a wee bit more to it in terms of what they’ve been up to through these years. You learn a lot about Renton, Sick Boy and indeed Begbie and where their heads are.
“I think it’s an absolutely fantastic script. John Hodge has done a wonderful job, as he did with the original.
“Fingers crossed people will take it on board and they will enjoy it.”
