The presenter was charged with drink driving yesterday

A good fit?

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Saturday Night Takeaway would go ahead without Ant McPartlin for the first time ever the weekend after next.

The series, which he hosts with Declan Donnelly, was pulled from this weekend’s schedule following Ant’s arrest on Sunday.

However, Dec said that everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team felt they “owe it to the audience to complete the series”.

There’s now speculation that rather than host the entertainment show alone, Dec will be joined by another presenter.

Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt is currently the bookies’ favourite to co-host, with BetFair offering odds of 1/5 on her filling in for Ant, reports Metro.

Another potential candidate to present Saturday Night Takeaway is Cat Deeley, with odds of 10/1.

It’s thought that Stephen Mulhern could also get the call-up.

Ant was charged with drink-driving yesterday after a crash at the weekend.

“A man has been charged following a road traffic collision in Lower Richmond Road, SW14 that occurred on Sunday, 18 March,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

“Anthony McPartlin, 42 (18.11.75) of Chiswick has been charged by postal requisition on Wednesday, 21 March with drink driving.

“He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 4 April.”

It was confirmed that Ant has gone back to rehab this week following a stint last summer.
