The boys are back in town…
This weekend saw Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May do what they do best – talking nonsense and driving some cars – as the first episode of new Amazon show “The Grand Tour” began filming.

The former Top Gear presenters have taken their new programme to Johannesburg for their first episode, setting up in a plush tent in the wilds of South Africa.
So, today we opened our new office. In South Africa this week. Next week … ? pic.twitter.com/xmlsK8tTfg

As Clarkson explained earlier this year, the central theme of the Amazon show will see the presenting trio take their studio around the world on a “grand tour”. One week will see them in Johannesburg, the next in London – who knows where the GT tent will end up?
So, the Grand Tour (GT for short) will come from a tent, which we will put up in a different location every week. Your town?

The official Grand Tour Twitter feed gave us an added look at how the new show will pan out. Bootcut jeans and dad blazers are back in, as our three presenters look rather restrained and (whisper it) sensible, talking in front of a studio audience. Perhaps the show could even see a return of the motoring news segment, which fans have been crying out for since it was dispensed of in the latest series of Top Gear.

All in all, The Grand Tour seems to be shaping up rather well. All three presenters have been typically positive about being back in the groove again, so we can only imagine what weird and wonderful adventures Clarkson, May and Hammond have in store for us when The Grand Tour debuts on Amazon Prime sometime this autumn.
