It’s going to be a huge ending for the show.
I probably don’t need to remind you that Dec’s first solo gig in nearly two decades was a massive success, as he hosted Saturday Night Takeaway alone for the first time over the weekend.
More than 8 million viewers tuned into the show, making it the most watched in the series history.
Although Dec avoided making many references to his on-screen partner, it has emerged that he delivered an emotional off-screen speech when the camera’s stopped rolling. “It’s been the weirdest, weirdest show,” he said.
Adding: “That reception when I came down the stairs… I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do or how you were going to react… but you carried me all the way through the show.”
Next weekend is the series finale – filmed in Florida – and despite him doing such a good job on his own, it’s been reported that he will have some help in the form of singer Craig David and Hollywood star Denise Richards this Saturday.
“Denise and Craig are both household names and boast the required amount of star power for a TV event of this scale,’ a source told The Sun.
“Next week’s episode is on track to be even more amazing than last year’s send off at Disney World, even with just Dec at the helm.”
The Rock and Bruce Willis are also rumoured to make an appearance too, so it’s definitely not one to miss.
