Now imagine stepping on marbles as you journey to the toilet at 3am
If you want to kick your Christmas up a gear, then you’ll be pleased to know that you can now rent the Home Alone house via AirBnB.
Home Alone was a staple of our childhoods and still continues to be a Christmas classic 30 years after its 1990 release. Now, AirBnB has listed the house as a rentable property and has pegged Kevin’s older brother Buzz McCallister as the ‘host’.
The listing reads: “You may not remember me as particularly accommodating, but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.
“We may all be older and wiser now, but we’re never too old for holiday hijinks. So, this year, spend the holidays not-so-home-alone at my parents’ house.
“This holiday season, we’re playing by my little bro’s rules, so feel free to eat junk food, watch rubbish on TV, borrow my dad’s aftershave and choose your own adventure with a legendary battle plan as a guide. Just stay out of my room, okay?”
The property is located at 671 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, a 30-minute drive from Chicago, Illinois, where the film is set.
If the listing couldn’t get any better, vacationers also get to set up booby traps themselves, similar to Kevin in the original film.
AirBnB says that guests can “let their inner eight-year-olds run free for the evening without the interruption of pesky intruders”.
The listing also confirms that there will be “ample opportunity to scream into the mirror”.
Guests get the complete package, including Chicago’s finest pizza, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and a meet and greet with a tarantula similar to Buzz’s.
Finally, as a parting gift, guests will be given a Lego Ideas Home Alone, set free of charge.
