Jeremy Clarkson will forever go down in infamy for the punch which brought an end to his career at the BBC.
The “fracas” involving producer Oisin Tymon saw Clarkson depart to Amazon Prime, along with James May and Richard Hammond, while Chris Evans has jumped into the driving seat at Top Gear.
The Simonstone Hall hotel in Yorkshire where the incident took place has now immortalised the date by unveiling a new plaque.
Presented as a gift by some cheeky Top Gear fans, the hotel revealed the plaque – which reads ‘Here lies the BBC career of Jeremy Clarkson who had a fracas on this spot, 4th March 2015. The rest is legend’ – on their Facebook page.
It will sit pride of place on the patio where the fracas occurred – Clarkson would no doubt approve.
We were presented with this plaque from one of our guests last night! We think it would be quite appropriate to put it on the patio where the fracas took place!!
