House of the Dragon season 2 finale is leaked online

It’s happened again

Dozens of clips of the season two finale of House of the Dragon have been leaked online, days before it was due to be broadcast.

The eighth and final episode of the second season of the hit HBO series will premiere on August 4 in the US. But a number of clips have already been shared online after they were uploaded to a new TikTok account on Tuesday night.

According to ComicBook.com, the clips seem to have been captured by someone filming a screen with a secondary device.

Both the account and the clips have since been taken down, but not before the clips were reshared by people on TikTok and X.

ComicBook.com reports that the videos on the original TikTok account had been viewed more than 100,000 times before they were deleted.

It is not yet clear who is responsible for the leak.

This is the second time that a House of the Dragon finale has been leaked online.

In 2022, the season one finale appeared online after it was illegally uploaded. HBO pointed the finger at a distribution partner in Europe, the Middle East or Africa.

The company said in a statement at the time: “It appears to have originated from a distribution partner in the EMEA region.

“HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet.

“We’re disappointed that this unlawful action has disrupted the viewing experience for loyal fans of the show, who will get to see a pristine version of the episode when it premieres Sunday on HBO and HBO Max, where it will stream exclusively in 4K.”

And back in 2017, an episode from the seventh season of Game of Thrones similarly made its way to illegal torrent sites ahead of the scheduled air date.

At the time, HBO attributed the leak to the episode having been accidentally posted by a third-party vendor.
