Will this save the show?
There’s no denying that The X Factor has been on a downward spiral with regards to ratings over the last number of years, with fewer and fewer viewers tuning into the singing competition each week.
In an effort to combat this, producers are making some big changes ahead of the next season in the hopes of getting their ratings up. Some of the major changes being considered are the cancelling of the Sunday night show and the scrapping of the boot camp round.
“The question being asked is whether things could be done a little bit differently in the new series,” a source told The Mirror.
“One idea being looked at is whether getting rid of the Sunday show would allow ITV to put all its focus and resources into making Saturday night’s X Factor even more spectacular.
“Nothing has been decided but there are lots of ideas being thrown around.”
This all comes after it was confirmed that Cheryl would be returning to the show for the next season.
However, it looks like Nicole Scherzinger’s spot on the judging panel is now uncertain. There were rumours that Cheryl would replace Nicole on the panel, however, that is yet to be confirmed.
Either way, we don’t know if these changes are enough to draw viewers back to the long-running talent show.
