Wooooow.
Melbourne’s Federation Square played host to hundreds of Owen Wilson enthusiasts as they joined forces to commemorate the actor’s most memorable sound bite.
The people behind the event got really into it, producing the single greatest promotional video the world has ever seen.

The production value is second to none, proving that one day, nerds will rightfully inherit the earth in recognition of their valiant dedication to incredibly nerdy things.
As the footage shows, the event itself kicked off with a ‘Hype speech’ at precisely 6pm, which is fairly standard procedure when a large group of people are about to say ‘Wow’ like Owen Wilson in unison. Although I couldn’t find any footage of the hype speech itself, I’m inclined to believe it went something like this:
“Thanks everyone for coming. Today we’re going to do something very special. We are going to say ‘Wow’ like Owen Wilson. Let’s all just have a good time and do our best. Okay? Great”.
Then at 6.15pm sharp, the crowd said ‘Wow’ in perfect unison, with varying degrees of Owen Wilson impressions.

Not to be a total killjoy, but some of those Owen Wilson impressions were absolute garbage. You can’t turn up to an event where everyone has to say ‘Wow’ like Owen Wilson and mindlessly blurt out ‘Wow’ in your regular voice. That wasn’t the brief.
But for those that legitimately did a spot on Owen Wilson voice, you’re the real MVPs. You’ve done yourselves proud, your country proud and your fellow Owen Wilson fans proud.
Mr. Wilson himself is yet to comment on this event that took place in his honour, but if he’s every bit the man that we believe him to be, his response would probably be ‘Wow’.
