Matthew McConaughey and Colin Farrell in a Guy Ritchie film? You know it’s going to be good…
Looking for something to watch this weekend? After a film that everyone will enjoy on movie night? Well, look no further.
One of Guy Ritchie’s newest gangster films, which stars the likes of Colin Farrell and Matthew McConaughey, is now on Netflix – and it is as good as it sounds.
The Gentlemen is now on the streaming platform for subscribers to enjoy, having hit cinemas back in 2019.
Alongside Farrell and McConaughey, the film also features Hugh Grant, rapper Bugzy Malone, Charlie Hunnam, and Succession star Jeremy Strong.
And don’t be concerned about the possibility that it’s all style and no substance. Not only does it featured a ridiculously stacked cast but it was also pretty well received by audiences and critics alike when it was first released.
The film is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 75 per cent from critics and has an even higher score of 84 per cent from audience ratings.
The same website says that whilst it is unlikely to win Guy Ritchie “many new converts” it will “stand tall” for those who are already familiar with his work.
It’s absolutely classic Guy Ritchie as well. We’re talking the glory days of Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
In a nutshell, The Gentlemen follows Matthew McConaughey’s Mickey, a marijuana kingpin who is trying to get out of the game. Of course, it’s never that easy and chaos ensues.
