Rumours of a spinoff for James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke have been doing the rounds for a while now, but with no official word from those in charge about whether it will go ahead.
Until now.
Corden himself has confirmed that the rumours are true.
In an interview with Radio Times (picked up by Digital Spy), the Late Late Show host spoke about his dream guests for the hit singalong segment, singling out Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and Kanye West.
“They’re busy people,” Corden said, before adding: “But there are plans to make a Carpool Karaoke spinoff.”
The plan would be that Corden would only make occasional appearances on the spinoff, much like fellow late night host Jimmy Fallon does in his show Lip Sync Battle.
In the same interview, Corden was asked if he would ever try to get Donald Trump on board. “I don’t believe he sings,” Corden said. “But we’ve asked him to be a guest on the main show without success several times.
“It’s a difficult show for politicians because we bring all the guests out at the same time – so for them, it’s a much less controllable atmosphere.”
Yesterday, the newest Carpool Karaoke featuring Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas went out, and in case you’re interested, the most popular edition ever is One Direction’s, which has 65million views on YouTube.
