Actors Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet have announced they will be ending their 16-year relationship and going their separate ways.

Momoa shared the news in a joint statement from he and Bonet on his Instagram account.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,” their statement read.

“And so we share our Family news – that we are parting ways in marriage.”

The couple explained in their statement that they weren’t announcing their separation “because we think it’s newsworthy, but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”

They continued: “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become…’

‘Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children,’ they concluded. ‘Teaching our Children What’s possible ~ Living the Prayer.

“May Love Prevail.

The couple have two children together, their 14-year-old daughter Lola and 13-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf.

Bonet, who is best known for her role as Denise Huxtable on the sitcom The Cosby Show, had a previous marriage before Momoa, with singer Lenny Kravitz.

She was married to Kravitz for six years from 1987 to 1993, and had one child with him, daughter Zoe.
