Jeff Goldblum has become a father for the first time – and pulled off what could be the best publicity stunt in a long while.
The 62-year-old actor and his wife Emilie Livingston Goldblum have announced the birth of their son Charlie Ocean Goldblum, who was born on, wait for it – July 4th – Independence Day.
Goldblum, who has again signed up to star – and look awesome in overalls – in the new Independence Day: Resurgence movie joined Facebook to promote the film and share the birth of his son.
The actor first revealed he and his 32-year-old Olympic gymnast wife were going to be having a child during a January appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
At the time, he said: “She’s three months pregnant. She told me the day before we got married.”
The couple tied the knot in November last year in front of their family and friends at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile the studio behind Independence Day: Resurgence have been drumming up promo for the new film, due for release of the summer 2016.
Although nothing beats Goldblum’s baby trick, the more cynical among us might like to see a birth certificate.
