‘It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take’

Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that co-star Jonah Hill berated her with insults for an entire day while on the set of Netflix’s Don’t Look Up.

The film, which released globally on December 24, follows scientists as they battle a cataclysmic event and fight to be taken seriously by the media and government officials.

Lawrence, who plays student Kate Dibiasky, spent a full day onset improvising insults with Jonah Hill, who plays government official Jason Orlean.

The 31-year-old admitted that while Hill was hurling insults at her, she happened to enjoy it.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Lawrence noted that Hill plays both the President’s son and her chief-of-staff.

Don't

She said: “Jonah’s character is the President’s son, but also the Chief-of-Staff, which some might think is nepotism.”

She added: “He is the worst. It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing.

“We one time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me. It was amazing.

“He and Meryl are the only ones who really should do that kind of improv. I mean, he’s just a comedic master. We all did some stuff. Just not as well as Jonah.”
