Keanu continues to be an absolute gent

Keanu Reeves has purchased a number of Rolex watches for the stunt crew on his upcoming film John Wick: Chapter 4.

According to Robb Report, he purchased four Rolex Submariners: the popular diver’s watch which has been a luxury fashion item ever since it launched in 1953. The specific September 2020 model he picked out reportedly retail for around $10k – that’s approximately £7,300 per watch. Gulp.

You can see him celebrating with his stunt team here, as well as thank you posts from members of the crew who reveal a personal inscription reading their name along with the words: “The John Wick Five […] Thank you, Keanu. JW4 [John Wick 4], 2021. Classy, Keanu, very classy indeed.

The images are taken from stunt performer, martial artist and actor Jeremy Marinas, as well as a diner at a French bistro who happened to catch a glimpse of Reeves seemingly celebrating with his team and holding up their watches on Saturday night (October 24).

Meanwhile, Bruce Lee Concepcion – another member of the team – also shared an image of him and the rest of the stunt and fight coordinators, Dave Camarillo and Li Qiang.

As Marinas’ post explains, these gifts were apparently dished out after production called a wrap on the movie – or at the very least, when the stunt crew’s job was done – calling it the “best wrap gift ever”. Filming was only reported as having started at the end of June – so it would be some turnaround if they had already managed to finish a project with this kind of blockbuster budget.

The series started out as somewhat of a smaller, sleeper-hit kind of action movie but quickly gained popularity after the success of the first film. This latest iteration will be the fourth in the fun, fast-paced ‘gun-fu’ franchise but a fifth instalment has already been confirmed.

However, whilst it was initially reported that the next two films would be filmed back-to-back, an exclusive from Collider revealed that this will no longer be the case – covid no doubt having had a long term impact on the schedule.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is due to release in the US on May 27 2022 and we’re sure director Chad Stahelski has ramped up the insane levels action even further this time around.
