From John Wick to a vigilante superhero. Yes!
Given the fact that Keanu Reeves has been kicking ass and taking names for the best part of three decades, we’re pretty sure that the icon knows a good action film when he sees one.
After all, Reeves has starred in The Matrix, Point Break, Speed, and Constantine (vastly underrated) to name but a few.
With news that ‘The Boogeyman’ will return for John Wick: Chapter 3, fans might be wondering how the actor can top the jaw-dropping gunplay, fights and action setpieces that define that franchise. Well, it appears that Reeves is set to star in Rick Famuyiwa’s film Past Midnight for Netflix.
Deadline have reported that the film is described as “a feature about a new kind of vigilante superhero’ and that Reeves is in talks to star.
What’s even more interesting is that Anthony and Joe Russo (directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War) are also attached to the project as producers.
At present, Reeves has a busy schedule with The Starling, Rally Car, Replicas, Siberia, Destination Wedding, and the TV mini-series Rain in various stages of production.
As for the director Rick Famuyiwa, this is the second film of his to be announced in a matter of days. The director was previously announced to helm the adaptation of the graphic novel Black Hole.
Like every film fan in the world, we’re massive fans of John Wick and if Reeves is interested in starring in Past Midnight, it’s an excellent indication that the film has some serious substance.
Truth be told, we’d watch Keanu Reeves kick ass in anything!
