This needs to happen!
Fake news is not something that you would ever taint Louis Theroux with. In his most recent series, Dark States, the gifted documentarian portrayed the harrowing impact that heroin is having in Huntington, West Virginia.
The journalist then completed his most recent series with astounding features on anorexia and other eating disorders, prostitution, and gun crime.
As he’s frequently done throughout his career, Theroux treated each of his subjects with a level of compassion, honesty, and integrity that really resonated with viewers. In fact, some people have even called for the journalist to be knighted. We fully agree.
In the past few months, Theroux has been very candid about the documentaries that he would like to make – a meeting with the artist R.Kelly and a return to visit America’s infamous neo-Nazis are on his agenda – but plenty of people would love to see him make a documentary about Donald Trump.
In a previous interview with The Guardian, Theroux has said that Trump’s story does appeal to him in an “odd way.”
“Trump saw through so much. For all his awfulness, I can’t but help admire his shamelessness, in an odd way. Or maybe not admire, but be fascinated by it and maybe envy it. In a shame culture he seems to have figured out that if you refuse to be shamed, it gives you enormous power,” he said.
Prior to Trump’s election, Theroux gave an interview with ABC News, where he revealed what angle his Trump documentary could potentially take.
Speaking about the potential of Trump in the White House, Theroux said: “I think there’s a feeling of almost, you know, a grassroots feeling of being betrayed by the elites in some way in the sense that the system is working for itself and not for the people at the bottom. I think the same thing is behind Trump. A lot of people feel let down by the whole Republican and Democrat political system and they see Trump – for all his flaws – as a breath of fresh air. I think he could win, he could win because there are Trump supporters out there that aren’t even revealing themselves as such. For me, that’s a scary prospect because, for me, I’d think he’d be a disastrous president.”
Given the fact that Trump’s latest tweet has yet again made the news – as is the norm – Theroux has once again teased us all with the idea that he’s going to make a documentary about the US president.
Truth be told, we like the name.
It’s stable and like, really, smart.
….Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star…..

A Very Stable Genius would be a pretty good title for a doc about Trump.

Plenty of people hope that Theroux makes this documentary. We’re definitely one of them.
