Now that was dramatic, but also suspicious.
Love Island’s Jacques O’Neill dramatically walked out the villa after bombshell Adam Collard made moves on his girl – and ITV2 viewers already have their theories.
The 23-year-old – who also dated co-star Gemma Owens before their time on the dating show – has had a tense few days after admitting to Paige Thorne that he’d cheated with other girls during the show’s Casa Amor stage.
Just as it looked like he would win back Paige, producers welcomed Love Island veteran Adam Collard – an OG bombshell from 2018 – back into the villa to ruffle some feathers. And Adam did so immediately, by making a move on Paige.
Such an emotional goodbye

During Tuesday night’s episode, Jacques broke down in tears as he explained his reason for leaving the villa.
He told his co-stars: “Lately, I just can’t be myself. I’m trying my best – but I’m not a fake person.
“I’m not going to start faking things and act like I’m OK when things inside aren’t actually OK. So I’m going to be leaving today.”
Still crying, he added: “I just can’t stick around and not be myself. It’s not fair to me and it’s definitely not fair to Paige.
“For me and Paige to work I need to be at my best and if that means removing myself from the situation and waiting for Paige when she gets out, that’s what I’m going to do.”
The situation he is referring to is of course his new potential love triangle with Adam and Paige and the heated words exchange in an explosive episode last night.

On Tuesday night’s show Jacques erupted after Gemma told him Adam had “properly slagged him off”.
Jacques immediately ranted: “If a boy’s going to chat s*** behind my back, I don’t f***ing have it.”
The following morning, he burst into tears on the terrace telling Paige, “I need to get back to myself and the only way I’m going to do that is by going home.”
Despite the emotional scenes fans were convinced a possible bust-up was left unaired as they noticed Jacques and Adam reconcile. For the viewers, things were not adding up with many speculating that Jacques was asked to leave the villa due to ‘bad behaviour’
During his time in the villa Jacques was accused of “bullying” and “gaslighting” Paige. His family shared that the he struggles with his emotions due to ADHD.
They most definitely removed Jacques but have let him say he’s left voluntarily. This man is scary, volatile and insecure #LoveIsland

None of this makes any sense and I'm not buying it for ONE second. Jacques clearly behaved in a way that violated the behavioural rules of the show and has been asked to leave. They haven't shown us to avoid ofcom complaints and further criticisms. #TALKSWITHASH #LoveIsland

Some viewers, however, believed the show would not need to stage an exit. One tweeted: “I’d say they / his family intervened because it was only going downhill for him and they feared even more backlash for his reaction to Adam etc. Chap needs therapy. Wish him the best.”
If he was kicked out, they would've just removed him without the sympathetic edit and goodbye. I'd say they / his family intervened because it was only going downhill for him and they feared even more backlash for his reaction to Adam etc. Chap needs therapy. Wish him the best.

Before last night’s scenes were aired a spokesperson for the show said: “Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa.
“We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques.”
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
