Madonna’s 18-year-old son has revealed that he has been forced to ‘scavenge for food’ since moving out of his mother’s multi-million dollar mansion.

David Banda was adopted by Madonna and Guy Ritchie in 2006, and is a skilled musician after performing with his mother on stage on several occasions during his teenage years.

Banda is one of the Queen of Pop’s six children alongside Lourdes, 27, Rocco, 23, Mercy, 18, and 11-year-old twins Stella and Estere.

On a recent Instagram Live, Banda opened up about the ups and downs of flying the nest, and living independently of his very wealthy parents.

Banda, who is dating 21-year-old model Maria Atuesta, said: “I love it. I’m not on my own, I’ve got my girlfriend. But I love it.”

“It’s lovely to experience it being nine o’clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don’t have enough money to get food and scavenging. It’s fun to be young,” he added.

Banda is living in the Bronx and making money by teaching guitar. He charges $200 a pop for his guitar lessons, which can be booked through his Instagram page.

Banda is the first of his siblings to move out and attempt to make it on his own.

Considering his mother’s estimated net worth is $1.2 billion, and she boats an extensive real-estate portfolio, living off your own back in one of the most expensive cities in the world must be a difficult adjustment.

During his livestream, the 18-year-old also revealed that his mother is dating again.

When asked about his mother’s love life, he said: “Truth be told, she’s not single. She’s dating a guy . . . That’s her life. She’ll do what she wants to do.”

Last year, Madge, 65, was linked to boxer Josh Popper, 29, but in May the couple reportedly called it quits.

Despite reports that the pop star was getting close to fighter Richard Riakporhe, 34, he has since denied the rumors, claiming the pair are just friends.

In a 2019 interview with Vogue, Madonna described her eldest son as ambitious and talented.

“What he has more than anything is focus and determination,” the Like A Prayer singer said.

“I’m pretty sure he got it from me. He’s the one I have the most in common with. I feel like he gets me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far. Let’s see what happens – it’s still early days for everyone.”
