Spiderman! Chris Pratt! Iron Man! No, you calm down!
Sorry about that, but we’ve just had a total nerdgasm at the sight of the what is destined to be one of – if not the – biggest blockbusters of all time.
Even since the first Iron Man movie come out in 2008, Disney and Marvel have had a long term plan in what they wanted to do with their collection of superheroes, and when some of them came together for the first Avengers movie, we thought it couldn’t get any bigger and better than that.
We were wrong.
Filming began on Avengers: Infinity War on 23 January 2017, and is currently penciled in for a release date of 27 April 2018 over here, and they’re going to need every single minute of that fifteen-month window to squeeze in all the content this teaser has promised.
The big bad guy Thanos (Josh Brolin) is finally arriving to bring the hurt, and in return not only do we get the recently disassembled Avengers – now with recent additions Spiderman (Tom Holland) and, we’re presuming, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) – but we also get the Guardians Of The Galaxy. That’s right, it’s the ultimate tag-team death-match!
The directors behind Captain America: The Winter Solider and Civil War are taking on the Herculean task of putting together what will surely be some of the most world-shatteringly large action sequences imaginable, and then they’ll get to do it all again two years later, with the second-part of the Infinity War due for 2019.
Bring it on!
