Superstar comedian Michael McIntyre was robbed by two men wielding a hammer on Monday, his publicist has confirmed.

McIntyre was waiting outside his children’s school in north west London, when two men approached his car on a moped, and smashed the vehicle’s windows with the hammer. They then took his watch, and fled the scene.

His publicist Gary Farrow confirmed to the BBC that McIntyre was “fine”.

The Metropolitan police said they were called to the scene of a robbery at 13:59 BST, and stated that there were no injuries, and no arrested had been made. A statement read: “The victim was stationary in his car when two males on a moped smashed the car windows with a hammer before stealing property.”
