New trailers for two of this year’s most anticipated superhero films landed at the MTV Movie Awards last night.
Chris Evans was on hand to introduce over a minute of previously unseen footage from the imminent Captain America: Civil War. The clip shows Captain America, Falcon and Scarlet Witch battling a group of soldiers as they attempt to breach a building.

There’s some signature shield-lobbing antics from Cap, and we also get a glimpse of Crossbones – the movie’s new villain. Civil War is the 13th entry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and initial reaction from the advance screenings suggest it could be one of the most entertaining yet.

But that’s not all. We also got an action-packed new trailer for Suicide Squad, the movie that DC hopes will restore a bit of credibility after the critical kicking that Batman vs Superman received.
Set to a soundtrack of The Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz”, the trailer shows Batman in full pursuit of The Joker, and there’s a host of typically amusing soundbites from Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Will Smith and Cara Delevingne also get plenty of screen time.
Captain America: Civil War opens in the UK on April 29, with Suicide Squad scheduled for an August 5 release.
