A short run of new episodes will tie up old storylines.
The X-Files will be returning to TV screens as US TV network Fox closes out a deal for up to ten new episodes.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, with the actor recently revealing in an interview with The Talk: “It looks good. It looks very good.”
Discussions are ongoing as to the finer details but it appears most likely that the show will be begin shooting as early as this summer, when Duchovny, Anderson and the show’s creator Chris Carter are all available.
The show originally ran between 1993 and 2002, with two subsequent movies released in 1998 and 2008.
