“I revel in your hatred”.
It’s very likely that you’ve heard the name Roger Stone being mentioned over the last two years. If not then please allow an interviewee in Netflix’s new original documentary to fill in the blanks.
In their view, Roger Stone is responsible for “creating Donald Trump as a political figure.”
Given the incredibly heated nature of the US election and the divisive policies that the Trump administration have pursued since their victory, more and more people have been asking the same question. How did Donald Trump manage to reach the White House?
One man that was instrumental in Trump’s rise to power was the political operative Roger Stone because as he boldly said in the ’80s, he spotted something in Trump that very few others did and advised him to consider a presidential campaign bid.
This being said, the new documentary also shows that Stone has many more interesting facets to his character and history.
Netflix’s latest documentary promises to examine the mind of a master manipulator while providing a raw perspective on the transformation of American politics.
As Stone himself says “it’s better to be infamous than never to be famous at all” and audiences will finally get to see Stone’s dealings with issues like rape denial, sex scandals and his love of Richard Nixon.
Get Me Roger Stone arrives on Netflix May 12.
