Tom Holland was lampooned in some quarters when he was announced as the latest actor to take on the iconic role of the amazing Spider-Man. Many mocked his juvenile appearance when compared to the likes of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The thing is, it terms of the actual character, Holland fits the bill.
He is barely out of his teens himself, and looks very much like high-school student Peter Parker. He also has the necessary comic chops after impressing critics and fans alike with his quick-fire quips in Captain America: Civil War. That’s all well and good, but is he up to the very physical demands of the role?
The majority of his stunts in Civil War may have been added in post-production via CGI, but Holland has put any doubts about his gymnastic skills to bed with some mightily impressive rehearsal footage. In a Instagram video, the 20-year-old is seen leaping ten feet into the air and landing perfectly on the ground, in a move that’d make our Olympians proud.
We don’t know about you, but it’s certainly got our spidey-senses tingling for the forthcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie…
