The Obamas are producing a new Netflix comedy series about the chaos of the Trump administration.
Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Production company has teamed up with comedian and writer Adam Conover (Adam Ruins Everything) to create a new part-sketch comedy/part-documentary series to pull back the curtain on the US government – most notably, Trump’s administration.
Deadline reports that Netflix has ordered The G Word with Adam Conover, a new series that will be loosely based on Michael Lewis’ bestselling book, The Fifth Risk.
The Obamas acquired the rights to the book back in 2018 following news of their production deal with Netflix, and now following Joe Biden’s victory in the US presidential election, the company has finally announced that the series is coming.

Conover shared the news on his Twitter account over the weekend, writing that he is excited to share the series with viewers.
“Very happy to finally be able to share this news,” he wrote. “I’m creating a new comedy series for Netflix about the federal government. It’s called The G Word, and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
The G Word will be a comedy sketch show comprised with elements of documentary and storytelling.
Due to start production early next year, the series is created by Fair Point. Show runners are Conover, Jon Cohen and Jon Wolf.
As well as his popular comedy series Adam Ruins Everything, Conover is the host of Nickelodeon’s The Crystal Maze and a recurring voice actor on Bojack Horseman and Tuca and Bertie.
