Star Wars has officially conquered the galaxy.
Fresh from the news that Rian Johnson and the Game of Thrones showrunners, Benioff and Weiss, are creating new Star Wars films, Disney have announced that the Emmy-nominated director, producer and actor Jon Favreau has signed on to executive produce and write a live-action Star Wars TV series.
The show will air on Disney’s new direct-to-consumer platform – basically, Disney’s answer to Netflix.
Favreau has already worked in the Star Wars galaxy having played roles in both the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.
