After over a decade, could this show make a return?
TV legend Paddy McGuinness has spoken out about rumours of Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere returning to our screens,
Last month, comedian Peter Kay let slip that the duo has two hour-long episodes ready to stream. Naturally, fans lost their minds.

At the time, Kay said: “I loved making Max and Paddy – it was one of the best times we ever had filming and we had such a good laugh. We actually wrote two Christmas specials, then we never made them, so you never know.”
McGuinness has now spoken to The Sun about the show’s possible return, saying:Â “Peter did a live show a week or so back and he’s thrown it out there. But that’s what he does.”
He added: “He makes an appearance once every three or four years, says we’re going to do some Max and Paddy, then no one sees him again. And then every interview I do it’s like, ‘When’s it back?’
“I’m texting him like, ‘Why have you done that again?’. But if you look at what we’ve already written, you think, ‘That will go down really well’.”
The now-iconic characters were first introduced to the British public in Phoenix Nights, which ended back in 2002. Then, two years later, a spin-off entitled Max And Paddy’s Road To Nowhere hit our screens and instantly made an impression.
The series saw the two Phoenix Club bouncers, Max (Peter Kay) and Paddy (Paddy McGuinness).
There was only ever one series containing six episodes, but as McGuinness suggests, the topic comes up fairly frequently in interviews.
